The Geometry of Time

An Invitation to Discover

Atelier Pieters is a celebration of the knowledge and expertise that lies behind the innovation, precision and compelling beauty of elite timepieces. It is the distillation of 1000’s of hours spent patiently and painstakingly mastering methods and techniques. It is a continuation of our lifelong dedication to preserving and perpetuating the tradition and craftsmanship of fine watchmaking.

“TRUE LUXURY IS NOT JUST TO BE ADMIRED, BUT UNDERSTOOD.”

Our timepieces are constructed as a conversation between master watchmaker and apprentice. As a study in the technical and complex spoken with elegant simplicity, an artful expression of underlying mechanical purpose and precision. Revealing the intricate architecture of time itself through classical complications, our creations bring stunning clarity to the geometry of time.

Craftsmanship

The long way...

At Atelier Pieters, we design and produce our own in-house calibres, drawing our inspiration from enduring classical complications. Each component crafted in our atelier is done so using manually operated, conventional machines. The process is slow, deliberate, and deeply rewarding, every detail unfolds as the timepieces take form, directly in our hands.

“REVERENCE FOR TIME-HONOURED TRADITION AND SKILLS.”

To appreciate the exacting complexity of our work, consider that our mainplate alone requires more than 125 meticulous (manual) mechanical operations to create only the raw ebauche, excluding the preparation of tools, machine setup, assembly and adjustment and final decoration. Our tourbillon cage bridge takes form by undergoing over 60 operations and all of this before heat treating, decoration and assembly. Every step from the first to the last demands absolute precision; a single mistake means starting over.

Although it is labourious and intensive work, we embrace this discipline not for efficiency, but for pride in our craft and a deep respect for the skills we have learned and taught around the world.

Our commitment ensures that every timepiece remains repairable by human hands, never made obsolete by passing technology. You can sense the warmth of that touch in each piece; subtle differences in surface and reflection, alive with individuality.

Our production is intentionally limited to series of 8 pieces per reference, per year, dictated by the number of watches we can personally create while upholding our uncompromising standards of quality.

Atelier 1

Atelier 1 - Manual Wind Tourbillon with Power Reserve

Atelier 1 invites you to share your time with ours. To be curious, to be captivated. The hypnotic rotation of the tourbillon takes center stage with intent, its fine two-armed bridge leaving the architecture exposed, ready to be studied. The warmth of the matte German silver contrasts with the cool precision of the fine steel components and bridges, all painstakingly finished by hand and calling to be observed from every angle.

Our three-piece polished case is sculpted from 950 platinum, chosen for its unmistakable presence on the wrist and timeless prestige. Bold in stature, the refined geometry and gentle contours of the case bring a delicate side to our substantial piece. The flowing case surfaces provide a seamless transition from the case middle to the integrated lugs that slope gently to meet the wrist. Eloquently framing the timepiece, the subtly concave bezel draws the eye inward to meet the discreetly arched sapphire crystal and what lies beneath.

The dial construction explores technical geometry, layered textures, and precise composition, creating visual depth while remaining classically restrained. Each of the two limited series of eight pieces is distinguished by a dial of contrasting colour, a reflection of duality and balance, night and day, a reflection of us.

Our diamond-faceted rhodium-plated hands are precision-milled from solid metal, revealing shifting reflections through their carved three-dimensional forms as they traverse the dial. The dual-indicator power reserve is discreetly displayed, readable both from a circular aperture on the dial side at 3 o’clock and via a hand on the movement side.
